Last Tuesday my Mom became ill and after a day in the ER, it was decided to put her in the hospital until she got better. Needless to say, it was a very stressful week. The good news is that she is better and back at home this week.
I worry about my Mom … a lot. She is 82 years old and very independent. She lives alone and does very well for herself. But I worry. I can’t help it.
I guess what happens, is that our roles do reverse as we age. I have become the Mom. And when things don’t go as they should, I take the responsibility on myself.
I spent almost every waking minute at the hospital, and it was a good thing I did. Many elderly people just don’t know how to ask for what they need. Even the most basic things.
My little teddy bear life has been on hold for a bit. And that is as it should be. As hard as it is for my Mom to accept, she is my priority. I would do anything for her.
I feel very blessed to have her in my life and to be able to share “old age” with my “little Mom.”
I love you, Mom!
Sending grateful prayers for "Mom's" recovery - and richest blessings to both of you. Being one of the lucky ones who has actually met your Mom, I know you enrich each other's lives. And so cool to see Spock2 too!!

Bless you both! Glad your mom is better and that she has you to care for her. xx
ReplyDeleteOh I'm so sorry to hear that! I'm glad your Mom is on the mend and I hope you are able to get some rest. I'm sure all this snow isn't helpful either. Take care!

ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry to hear that your mom wasn't doing so well last week, but I'm sure glad she's feeling better. I'll be sending positive thoughts and prayers your way. I love the pictures of your mom, especially the one with both of you. Please let her know she has lots of people on the internet sending her good vibes. :)
Hugs,

Thank you all for your thoughts. It really means a lot to me for you to take the time to comment. I've passed this on to Mom and I'm sure it will make her day.
