Photographing a Personality

One of the challenges of working in a teddy bear world is trying to capture the personality of the teddy bear. Sometimes it just doesn’t work by using a plain black or plain white background. Dawson is such a case. Although I was able to capture his sweetness in a couple of photographs using a plain background, he insisted that I photograph him surrounded by the “fun” stuff that teddy bears love.

So, how could I resist. He promised to cooperate, and so shall I. We started with, of course, a favorite of the teddies, the big rocking horse.

And from there to the bamboo plant by the window sill;

… then over to the little clock by the bookshelf;

And, by all means, we had to pose on the bookshelf next to some favorite Steiff bears;

Next we went over to “Mom’s” chair;

….. then to the dining room table;

Oh, and a favorite was next to the baby orchid plants that Mom brought home from Hawaii;

And finally to rest next to the globe of the World, to dream of his new home.

Thanks for sharing the magic!

Hugs, Vicki and Dawson

P.S. And my Mom is doing much better for those of you who read my previous post! Thanks for your thoughts.

  1. Hi Vicki! Dawson is a real cutie - how do you get your bears to stand so upright, without any apparent support? He's so lovely shiny and cuddly.

    Sorry to hear your Mom is poorly - haven't been following my chosen blogs recently, as I've been busy with the Cuddlies and looking after my poor disabled husband who has been laid low with a nasty chest bug that's been doing the rounds hereabouts.

    By the way - have access now to a Beaver, Raccoon (2) and a Badger, with a possibility of a Hedgehog too! The internet can work, when it wants to!

    Cheers - and hope Dawson finds a home soon. Isobel

  2. Hi Isobel, Thanks for coming by my blog. I know sometimes how hard it is to keep up with things on the Internet, especially blogging, so I do appreciate when you have the time to come over to my neck of the woods. I am happy you had such good luck with your critters! Take care, Vicki

  3. Hi Vicki!

    This post is too cute! Of course pictures are great when the bears are so beautiful. I especially love the way you ended with him looking at the world and wondering what part he will go. Priceless.

    Vicki - I hope your Mom is doing better. I know how hard times can be - my mom is 88 and has suffered 2 mild strokes. Luckily I have an older sister to share the responsibilities in helping Dad.

    Take care

  4. Hi Pat, your comments mean a lot to me. It helps to share the challenges some of us face with aging parents. Jilly says hi! Hugs, Vicki

  5. Hi Vicki,
