Mission Accomplished….hopefully

In my previous post entitled Lost In NYC, I made reference to a “secret mission” that hopefully would dispel the despair felt by one who had lost his favorite teddy bear while visiting in NYC.

I’ve been very busy this past week, trying to recreate a suitable likeness to the “Lost in NYC” teddy bear. The soft, squishy teddy bear pictured above is the result of my attempts to recreate a very loved bear. As I write this, he is speeding his way towards his intended new owner and may even be aboard Alaska Airlines at this moment.

Although the bear’s photo has been accepted by the intended new owner, we will anxiously await the final hug and acceptance at the destination site.

We shall stand by and hope it is love at first site.

Time to Change the View

… and Jones, one of my favorite bears, has decided to help me do just that.

Every time I looked at my last post, it just looked too depressing. It is time for a little sunshine and today it is doing just that.

Let’s Take A Spring Stroll…

Today is April 11 and this is what it looks like outside my sliding glass door.

I’m trying to be patient with Father Winter, but it is time for him to go away.

Perhaps I’ll go for a little stroll… outside the sliding glass door, onto the deck…

Oh look, it’s a greenhouse!

Open the door…

…. and say hi to all the little buddies I planted about a month ago…

sunflowers and cucumbers,

tomatoes and begonia starts.

Springtime really is here in Alaska… honest. Even if I have to rush it along a little bit.

Introduction to My Sister’s Doilies

I decided to start a blog for my sister, Pat.



My sister lives in a tiny little apartment in Bismarck, North Dakota. She doesn’t get out much, but she is a very crafty individual.

She crochet’s the most beautiful, intricate doilies.

Every year she sends me some of her hand crocheted doilies to sell at our Alaska Juneau Public Market, alongside my teddy bears.

And between markets, I simply keep her remaining gorgeous handmade doilies in my closet, until next year.

I decided to start her a little selling blog. I will then begin the process of posting some of her creations, hopefully to generate some income for her.

I know she could do it herself, but hard as it is to believe, she doesn’t even have a computer.
