Feet First ..

On page 135 of my favorite teddy bear instruction book, “101 Bears to Make” by Nancy Tillberg, are instructions for silk ribbon embroidery and a photo of a teddy bear paw embellished in roses, beads and lovely green leaves. Ever since I saw that photo, I have wanted to learn how to do this, but I thought it was going to be difficult, so I put it off until a couple of weeks ago when I just sat down and decided to learn the procedure. And guess what? It wasn’t that difficult after all. In fact it was so easy I almost laughed.

And I am so happy to present one of the most feminine bears I have ever made, all decked out in roses and lace… oh, I’m sure you get the picture. And, yes, the picture!!!

First here are the feet! This is the first time I ever made paws to precede the bear.

And here is beautiful Primrose. I believe she does those paws justice!

I even embroidered some roses on her little lace collar.

I just finished her a couple of days ago and today we completed the photo session. I’m not sure if she’ll be on Etsy or eBay, but she will be listed very soon.

I get so excited about learning something new and actually seeing results that I am happy with.

Thanks for the visit! Vicki

  3. That's a great idea - every now and again, I like to embroider (it hasn't happened for a while admittedly, but this idea just might get me going one day!) Think your latest is beautiful - and doesn't she know it, too!
