Sometimes when the energy goes away, I feel like it will never return. I think, perhaps, sometimes we just need a “time out” and then when the ideas start popping in, we need to take advantage and get rolling.
Last week it started with an idea to go to the Salvation Army to search for some old coats. I love working with mohair and other plush materials, but I just felt the urge to find some other unique materials and see where that takes me.
By the end of the day, I had four coats in hand and felt the old creative spirit return.
I have photographed two of the coats I found.
Coat No. 1
and Coat No. 2
Both have been washed and dismantled and I’ll be cutting out the pieces within the next day or two.
Bear pics will be posted!
One of my favorite bears is Beth. I made her many, many years ago from an old coat I found in a second hand store. She’s one of those bears whose eyes follow you as you walk around the room.
It feels good to be back. I love making teddy bears.. it just seems as if something is missing when I’m not messing around with fur-like materials.
Many hugs from Vicki and the bears
I know what you mean about enjoying making bears - it is definately addictive!
ReplyDeleteBeth has a lovely expression, I bet she is a good listener! :o)
I love Beth. She looks like a vintage gal. Vicki, I don't think that the fur addiction will ever really leave us ... thank goodness!!!
